You've been certified...now where do you start?

Becoming a certified and/or licensed practitioner is only half the battle.  Now that you've accomplished the practitioner education it is time to learn how to run an effective and profitable business in addition to servicing your patients at a quality level.

Serving patients can only begin once your business practices have been put in place.  Now comes the paperwork and waiting game.

Accreditation, Medicare Application (855-S) and applications for your NPI, electronic claims submission, payer enrollments and contracting are only a few of the tasks you must concur during this implementation phase.

Many of the required tasks to be completed are time consuming but relatively easy to complete when done correctly.  Completing the tasks incorrectly can lead to but are not limited to the following:

• Delays in billing
• Increased levels of outstanding accounts receivables
• Unnecessary payor rejections
• Rework
• Decreased levels of reimbursement
